Academics
"I can't expect the faculty to read my mind, so in the end it really is up to me to take charge of this. My message to other students is simple. Unending help is available, but you have to ask for it. It took me far too long to learn this important lesson."

Making the Most of College
Based on the latest educational research from Harvard University, learning that occurs outside the classroom, for example, in extra-curricular activities, is vital to a student's satisfaction with college. When asked to think of a moment or event that had profoundly changed their lives, four out of five university students that were interviewed over a 10 year period chose an extra-curricular or out-out-of-the-classroom event. With the Corps of Cadets as the largest extra-curricular organization at TAMU, we feel confident your membership in the Corps while at A&M will provide you with a gratifying, successful college education!
Each semester the Corps honors approximaltely one third of its members for their outstanding academic performances. These cadets are recognized for both Corps and University-level awards.
Scholastic Officers and Sergeants, the top cadets in charge of academics for each unit, are working in conjunction with Corps Academic Mentors to set goals for the academic year. The Corps Academic Support Staff is dedicated to assuring each cadet recieves a well rounded education with the highest of academic achievement. You will be provided the opportunity to develop and grow both as a student and as a cadet.
I want to wish each of you a successful career at Texas A&M. We hope your fall and/or spring registration is a smooth process. If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to stop by my office in Corps Lounge D.
